I love food. I pathologically love food. When I go places I don’t really remember things by what I did, or sights I saw. I remember things by what I ate. I remember the first time I ate In-N-Out in California. Italian Ice in Philadelphia. Ice cream at Salt & Straw in Portland. The Thai food the first night I moved to Seattle. Your grandma and I, we keep Ovaltine in our cupboards. It’s good for your growing children. It’s also just really good. Like I might punch a baby to get some, or something else inappropriate.
For some reason I went through my whole life being intimidated by the idea of making my own crackers. I’ll give you a moment to judge me.
After finding various recipes in print and on the interwebs, I was pleasantly surprised. There’s almost nothing to them. It’s like baking a glorified pie crust.
Okay, so here’s my make up post for last week. I was MIA because it was my birthday. Let me apologize again for stressing you all out. I know you all were stressing, you worried, maybe got some grays while I was gone, but it’s all good.
October must be a good month for people, because there are A LOT of July birthdays in my life. October 31st, anyone? Anyone?
My dad, brother, my boyfriend’s step-dad, a coworker, that one girl from Junior High. Princess Diana and I share a birthday. I thought my brother would really like to know he shares a birthday with Kristi Yamaguchi. God blessed the USA with “The Situation” on July 4th. That’s worth mentioning.
First off, let me just apologize for the week long hiatus. I know you all were sitting at your computers tearing your hair out and sweating with apprehension. I had a busy week, but more on that another day. I promise to make up for it. I’d also like to apologize to my mother for breaking the word of wisdom. You still love me, right?
